Jockey Parking comes to Casey

From Monday 13 September, Jockey Parking will commence at Casey Hospital to maximise the number of cars that can fit in a car park.

In doing so, we will be able to increase car parking access for employees. Jockey parking is a feasible option to create more car spaces, quickly.

How it works

Cars are double-parked in the aisles and are moved by car parking attendants when the blocked car needs to leave. The attendant then drives the car that was double-parked into the vacated space, locks it and secures the keys in the attendants’ booth.

Cars in normal marked spaces are locked and left as usual. Drivers parked in these spaces are not required to leave their keys. Only drivers of cars that are double-parked in the aisle (around 40-60 each day) need to leave their keys.

The below map outlines where the car parking attendant will be located in the car park.

  • Jockey parkers are required to wear surgical masks at all times
  • Jockey parkers will practice good hand hygiene before andafter moving employee cars
  • Jockey parkers will sanitize all keys after receiving them and before handing them back to the driver
