Improvements to Discharge Templates
Discharge Summary Templates have been updated to improve usability and readability.
The templates affected by this update include:
- Medical Discharge Summary
- ED Discharge Summary
- Neonatal Discharge Summary
- Deceased Discharge Summary
Key changes include:
- Removal of 2-column formatting means the Problem List and Medications now appear in the main body of the document
- Demographics and Problem List now viewed in Table format
- Recommendations are now prominent and relocated under the Problems List
- Separation of Clinical Summary from Plan, this change is also reflected in the Discharge Workflow Mpage
- ED Discharge Summary incorporates completed EPS assessment
Ability to Modify Signed Documents
It is now possible to modify signed documents directly using the Revise function. This change allows edits to be entered directly within the document text field rather than being limited to an addendum at the end of a document.
This change affects the Dynamic Documentation function only and is applied to the following note types:
- Admission Note
- Discharge Summary
- Ward Round Note
- Review Note
- Consult Note
Any modifications made using the Revise function can be highlighted using the Tracked Changes function, which tracks the changes made, the time of the changes and who made the changes.
The Revise function replaces the “Addendum” capability, which is no longer available.
