To increase access to COVID-19 testing for our employees and to reduce test result waiting times, Monash Health is making COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Tests (RATs) available for symptomatic employees.
This is an additional measure to support symptomatic employees get tested, who will continue to receive priority access at our Clayton and Dandenong Drive Through Screening Clinics.
We’ve also made some changes to the way you need to notify Monash Health in the event of a positive test result. You will now need to complete an online form and no longer need to call the Employee COVID-19 hotline.
From 1pm on 7 January, you will be able to collect a RAT at 20 Wright Street, Clayton, opposite E Block of Monash Medical Centre from 9.30am to 5pm, seven days a week. Please bring your Employee ID with you. The test should be conducted in your car soon after collection.
Due to stock limits, we are only able to provide tests to symptomatic employees at this stage, not asymptomatic employees or household/family members. This is a temporary testing arrangement and will be reviewed once further test supplies are available.
For employees who require a COVID-19 test and are asymptomatic, priority asymptomatic testing is available in all clinical areas as part of existing surveillance program and at our site-based Pathology Collection Centres at Clayton, Casey, Dandenong, and Moorabbin.
Please park at the Brown Street South carpark which is approximately 5 minutes’ walk to 20 Wright Street. The boom gates will be open from 8:45am and parking fees will not apply.
To show consideration to local residents, please also wear your mask while walking from your car to the Wright Street facility.
If you test positive using a RAT you should isolate for seven days, notify Monash Health of your symptoms and result using this form and let your manager know. You will also need to notify the Department of Health of the test result. You will no longer need to confirm any positive result through a PCR test.
If you test negative using a RAT and are not symptomatic the following day, you can return to work.
If you test negative using a RAT and are symptomatic the following day, you should test again.
