The new McCulloch Street will open on the 9th of May as part of changes to improve traffic flow at Monash Medical Centre.
Accessed directly from Clayton Road and located south of McCulloch House and the Special Medicine building, this new street will enable direct access to the loading dock and rear of Monash Medical Centre.
This will allow heavy delivery trucks and delivery vehicles to access the site without causing congestion at the main public Clayton Road entry and will simplify the way vehicles move around our busiest site.
McCulloch Street will allow easy access to:
- Special Medicine Building
- McCulloch House
- P-Block ambulance bay
- P-Block Employee Parking
- Area G car park
- MMC Northern Entry inc non-urgent Patient Transport
- Loading Docks
This new street will open on May 9th with traffic lights and signals expected to be activated in June. Until then there will be left-turn-only for vehicles entering or exiting via McCulloch Street.
An internal service road will be blocked off one week after the new McCulloch Street opens. This will allow the next stages of traffic flow improvements to take place, ensuring the new emergency and patient/visitor drop-off loops can be fully operationalised.
From this time access to the rear of the site including the areas listed above will only be available via McCulloch Street.
Please see the map showing the internal service road that will be blocked at one end.
