Overview
When the Victorian Heart Hospital (VHH) opens on 23 February, there will be new EMR functionality and digital changes that will impact employees across Monash Health. It is important to be aware of how these digital changes may impact the way you work. For information on accessing EMR and digital resources click here.
Clinical Documentation
This change impacts: Any employee who needs to review any VHH outpatient clinic notes, or clinical images for VHH patients.
Doctors should consistently review the EMR for the latest relevant cardiac results or notes, especially if seeing a patient in a non-VHH outpatient clinic. Click here for more information.
Cardiology Results
This change impacts: All Medical, Nursing, Allied Health and Pharmacy employees who need to know where to find and access cardiac investigation results. Click here for more information.
EMR Ordering
This change impacts the way certain referrals and orders will be made including:
- VHH Outpatient Clinic Referrals
- Requests for VHH Cardiology Investigations
- Pathology/Diagnostic Imaging for VHH patients
- Cardiac CT and MRI
Patient Portal
The Patient Portal allows patients to access their medical information safely and easily from Monash Health.
Only VHH patients will be able to sign up to the Patient Portal. However, it is important to understand that an inpatient at another Monash Health site may have a Patient Portal account if they have previously been a VHH patient. This will mean they will have access to relevant documents and results from their subsequent non-VHH visits. Click here for more information.
PowerTrials
VHH Clinical Trials will be in the EMR from Thursday 23 February.
This change impacts: Inpatient Doctors, Nursing, Allied Health, Research and Pharmacy employees.
Clinical Communication – Baret
Baret is a plug-in app that is within MS Teams. Baret is currently used at Monash Health by some employees and from the 23 February, it will be used to replace paging (Lanpage) between ALL VHH clinical employees. This will have impacts for non-VHH clinical employees.
This change impacts: All clinical Monash Health employees. Click here for more information.
EMR CapMan – Bed Management
Capacity Management (CapMan) will be used to manage patient flow across all Monash Health bed-based sites. Bed request orders will be placed on the EMR and allocated in Capacity Management.
