Community NDIS services thrive at Monash Health

Congratulations to our Community National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) Program and aged residential care facilities for achieving re-accreditation status!

Attaining re-accreditation recognises that our NDIS services for the community meets the quality and safety standards of the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. The status also assures Monash Health’s NDIS participants are provided safe and high-quality services and support.

Karin Franck, our Quality Manager NDIS, is pleased with the team’s all-round readiness for the assessments.

“Preparation for the audit was a great team effort over a number of months, which resulted in no non-conformities identified by the auditor.”

The auditor commended Monash Health on three specific strengths, namely:

  • leadership commitment by senior management
  • highly experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated staff
  • strong understanding and implementation of the requirements for Behaviour Support Plans

During the past year, our Community NDIS Program provided services and continues to support 458 participants (children and adults) predominantly in the City of Casey, Cardinia Shire and the City of Greater Dandenong. These services include Speech Pathology, Dietetics, Feeding Clinic, Physiotherapy, Podiatry, Exercise Physiology, and Occupational Therapy.

In the same period, our aged residential care facilities provided services to 20 NDIS participants across our four homes: Allambee Nursing Home, Chestnut Gardens, Mooraleigh Hostel and Yarraman Nursing Home.

Thank you to our employees who ensures that in everything we do, we uphold the rights of NDIS participants:

  • be safe and to receive quality services
  • exercise choice and control in the support services they receive
  • dignity and respect
  • live free from discrimination, financial, sexual, physical and emotional abuse, neglect, exploitation and violence

We look forward to continuing NDIS support for people under 65 years with permanent disability, and children with developmental delays, and help them to be engaged and live life to the fullest.
