Further to the guidance issued at 0845 this morning, we have now received new data showing a significant increase in hospitalisations due to COVID-19 across Victoria.
Accordingly, we will not be making any changes to our current PPE settings and will continue to require visitors to wear a mask.
Of course, two messages on the same day is unfortunate. However, we have and are committed to making our decision based on the best available information and taking action to protect our patients and employees without delay.
At this point, the increase has not directly impacted Monash Health, however, we have decided to maintain existing settings while we monitor the trend over the coming days.
Visitors will continue to be advised to not attend our sites if they have any symptoms of an infectious disease such as fever, cough, rash or diarrhoea.
In line with Monash Health infection control procedures, visitors must adhere to PPE requirements as advised by the local care team when visiting a patient. People coming to visit patients who are COVID/sCOVID positive should continue to wear an N95 mask while in the patient’s room.
