Renew your annual Nursing and Midwifery registration early

Online renewal of annual registration for nurses and midwives is now open.

By now, you should have received a registration renewal email from Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA) and the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).

We encourage all Monash Health registered and enrolled nurses, midwives and nurse practitioners to renew your registration early and avoid delays during the busy renewal period.

Annual registration renewal is a requirement under the National Registration and Accreditation Scheme. If you do not apply to renew your registration in time, it will lapse, and you will not be able to practice as a nurse or midwife.

At a recent forum Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer Adjunct Professor Katrina Nankervis set a challenge to all nurses and midwives, “Let’s have all Monash Health nurses and midwives renew their registration on time. Last year we had over 300 outstanding by 31st May, and we would like that to be zero this year. Another benefit of renewing early is you avoid the late payment fee”.

Please ensure you have applied to renew your registration before the expiry date on Wednesday 31 May.

Renewing your registration is easy

Visit the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA) website to complete your online renewal.
