On Tuesday 5 September, all overnight clinical employees who currently use Smartpage will start using Baret an app in Microsoft Teams for clinical communication. This change will impact all medical, nursing, midwifery, pathology and imaging employees who work overnight and use Smartpage, including our nursing coordinators (NCOs).
Here’s what managers need to know to help get their teams ready to use Baret.
What does my team need to do?
If you supervise or manage clinicians who work overnight and currently use Smartpage, make sure that they’re ‘Baret Ready’ before 5 September. Here’s what your team can do to be ready:
- Complete the 15-minute Baret Latte eLearning package
- Attend an optional Baret Webinar
- Look out for the Baret team Rounding at your site
- Attend a Baret LogOn Event at your site
- Complete the Baret Readiness Checklist

You can drop into a webinar via Teams to see the Baret application in action and ask questions. These 30-minute webinars are available from Tuesday 15 August and you can join the Teams link by selecting the webinar you wish to attend on the ‘Events and Webinar’ page of the M365 Knowledge Hub and add it to your Outlook Calendar.

Baret Log On Events
Stop by the Baret Log On Event at your site at the beginning or end of your night shift to ensure you are ‘Baret Ready’! The team will help you download, pin and register for the Baret application and can show you how to ‘clock on’, send and receive messages. It only takes 5 minutes!
