Baret: Next Rollout for All Inpatient Clinicians

Baret

We’re excited to announce that Baret is coming to more people at Monash Health!

Baret goes live for all inpatient clinicians on Wednesday 15 November

Baret is an app in MS Teams that enables role-based clinical communication– letting you find the right person easily and quickly, without needing to know their individual or personal details.

You may have heard, Baret has been successfully used by inpatient doctors, pathology and radiology staff, all clinicians affiliated with VHH, and most recently during overnight shifts in place of Smartpage at all our inpatient sites.

We’re consolidating how we communicate and making it easier to find the right person when you need them by introducing Baret to all remaining inpatient clinicians from Wednesday 15 November.

More information on how this will affect you will be coming soon – stay tuned to iNews, your manager communications and the employee forums for more information.

Baret is available in Teams – who should be using Baret now?

Baret is in use at the moment by a number of clinicians across our network. Due to the size of Monash Health, Baret has been rolled out in a phased approach. We have made Baret easier for clinicians to find by automatically enabling it in all Microsoft Teams profiles.

Currently, you should use Baret if you are:

  • An overnight clinical worker
  • Employed at Victorian Heart Hospital
  • Are a medical doctor working in an emergency or inpatient setting
  • Working in Pathology or Diagnostic Imaging
  • Are a clinician at any Monash site that needs to contact a VHH employee instead of via contact centre.

Baret is for routine clinical communication – Lanpage and pagers are still used to receive emergency communication such as Code Blue, Red, MET Call, code stroke, etc.  We also continue to use the contact centre for connecting with clinicians after hours who are off-site.
