We genuinely care about the wellbeing of our employees and are committed to keeping our team physically and psychologically safe at work.
In the unfortunate event of a work-related injury, our 24/7 injury triage service is available. Simply notify your manager at the time of the incident, and you can choose to have a confidential call with this service for immediate first aid advice and support.
Your triage consultant will provide advice on suitable activities and duties for both physical and psychological injuries to help support you to remain at work and recover. If you require a medical appointment, the consultant will assist with facilitating a booking with a medical appointment with a GP or psychologist and can triage as required.
There are no out-of-pocket expenses for you to attend a GP appointment for a work-related injury. You can choose to see your own doctor, noting that an out-of-pocket expense may be required initially until your Workers Compensation claim has been processed.
Below is a recent instance of our injury triage service in use, and how employees receive immediate support following an injury while at work.
Casie, a registered nurse recently used the service when she sustained an injury while assisting a patient’s Activities of Daily Living (ADLs). The patient was on the bed and grabbed onto Casie as she was moving, resulting in her injury.
Casie spoke to her manager, who provided the injury triage details and she contacted the injury triage service on the same day. She spoke to a healthcare professional who provided immediate advice to treat the injury, then was referred to a GP for further assessment. From the GP online session, she received a referral immediately for an in-person appointment with a physiotherapist.
“The service was quick and easy to use, and they were very thorough,” Casie states.
Casie has been able to continue to work on a suitable return-to-work plan. She has been placed on restricted hours and light duties and is progressing towards her normal work duties and hours.
“I would recommend the injury triage service. I felt comfortable throughout the process and the care I received was immediate, so it meant I wasn’t sitting and waiting to be assessed.”
