Effie celebrates four years as a cancer clinical trial participant

On Thursday 21 May, Effie Atkins celebrated four years as a cancer clinical trial participant at the MHTP Clinical Trials Centre where she receives an experimental drug that mobilises her immune system to fight the disease. Effie has not only been a trial participant for four years, she has also formed Dr Hope to raise funds to help expand the number of patients participating in cancer trials at Monash Health. Dr Hope has campaigned to raise funds and awareness of the importance of clinical trials, which has allowed the Oncology Research Unit to expand by employing a new Oncology doctor.

The MHTP Clinical Trials Centre and Oncology Research Unit congratulate Effie on reaching this significant milestone and thank her for her continued support in promoting the importance of having access to ground breaking treatments for more cancer patients.
