Thursday 21 March is Harmony Day and the theme for this year is ‘Everyone belongs’.
Harmony Day is a national day to celebrate Australia’s multiculturalism. It is about inclusivness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or llingustic background.
This day at Monash Health is an equity and inclusion committee initiative and celebrates our commitment to harmony, mutual respect and our commitment to providing culturally appropriate health service to improve health outcomes.
During Harmony week (18 -22 March) we are encouraging all Monash Health staff to come together and share a national dish, stories and celebrate diversity.
How can I get involved?
Come together with your colleagues and host your own ‘Taste of Harmony’ celebration by bringing in your national dish to share. You can read more about this concept here.
Wear orange and win
Orange is the colour chosen to represent Harmony Day and week. Traditionally, orange signifies social communication and meaningful conversations. It also relates to the freedom of ideas and encouragement of mutual respect.
Send a photo of you and your team in orange hosting a ‘Taste of Harmony’ celebration to Gaynor.henderson@monashhealth.org and go in the draw to win a $100 gift voucher.
