Employees wear purple to support epilepsy

Employees at Monash Health wore purple to support Purple Day. Purple Day is a global initiative dedicated to raising epilepsy awareness. There was a poster up for families to read which highlighted what epilepsy is, possible causes and the risks like SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy), and the nursing guidelines we follow. It also focused on possible surgical options if medications fail to control. Technicians gave an hour in service to the team about the work they do down in Monash Neurology, giving the staff insight into the Electroencephalogram (EEG), Nerve conduction studies and presented a couple to tests they had taken.
