The Victorian Allied Health Research Conference was held on Friday 22 March at the Exhibition Centre in Melbourne. Monash Health was well represented with over 30 oral and poster presentations across all allied health professions and the assistant workforce.
Speech Pathologists, Alice Robins and Michelle O’Rourke, assisted by Abby Foster, won the award for best oral presentation in Cultural diversity, access and equity, for their presentation: The Early Career Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander speech pathologist position: A Monash Health close-the-gap initiative.
Social Workers, Fiona McAlinden, Jacinta Re and Justine Little also won an award for their presentation “Guardianship in Hospitals – A Health Services / OPA Pilot Project” – this project is a joint initiative between Monash Health, Alfred Health & Eastern Health. This presentation won the award for best oral presentation in the category for Public Health and human services workforce innovation.
