Volunteer Week Lunch

Over 150 Monash Health volunteers and staff attended today’s annual Volunteer Week Luncheon at the Southern Golf Club. The lunch is a celebration of the generous contribution of our volunteers.

Chair of the Board, Dipak Sanghvi shared stories and spoke to the many acts of kindness our volunteers do daily and thanked them for their ongoing service and dedication.

General Manager of Community Julia Oxley recognised the strength our 377 official volunteers bring to Monash Health in supporting our patients, consumers and families during what can be the most challenging of circumstances.

“Every day you assist in delivering the very best care and support whether it is: Providing direction to a lost patient or family member, sitting by a distressed or lonely patient’s bedside, answering their questions during a time of deep anxiety or confusion, stopping to smile or chat with someone in the corridor or just providing the consistency in their care that improves their personal experience.”

Julia also thanked other volunteer organisations that visit our hospitals such as the Starlight Foundation and Ronald McDonald House.

We encourage all staff to take some time to thank and acknowledge our dedicated volunteers.
