Reconciliation at Monash Health

Yesterday our community came together for Reconciliation at Monash Health, a special event to acknowledge National Reconciliation Week and our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

Jemima Gardiner delivered the Welcome to Country on behalf of Aunty Margaret Gardiner, Wurundjeri Elder. She provided insight into the historical and cultural significance of reconciliation.

We were lucky to welcome singer and songwriter Kutcha Edwards and the Djirri Djirri Dance Group, who gave a beautiful performance about stories of creation, family and country.

We are walking together with our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to provide culturally appropriate health services and improved health outcomes.

Thank you to the Aboriginal Health Working Group and Equity and Inclusion Committee for supporting a significant event.
