The Beaconsfield Quilters have generously donated over 300 handmade quilts to our Palliative Care Unit at Casey Hospital since 2010.
Bev and Jill visited the unit last week to donate another 18 quilts to our patients and families in palliative care.
Each quilt is unique and helps create a more comfortable and less clinical environment for patients, and is offered to their family to keep when their loved one no longer needs it.
“Patients and their families are overwhelmed by the love and care that has gone into making something so beautiful and precious,” Casey Hospital’s Deputy Head of General Medicine and Palliative Care, Associate Professor Bruce Jackson, said.
“Our patients and families are incredibly grateful to the Beaconsfield Quilters for their most magnificent gifts, which undoubtedly provide much comfort to all.”
