EMR engagement never sleeps

The EMR Engagement and Subject Matter Expert (SME) Teams took the EMR Ward Walkthroughs to a new level last night, and pulled night duty at Dandenong Hospital’s Emergency Department, Critical Care and West 3 wards.

EMR Engagement Team Lead, Emma West said, “A natural progression of our daytime Walkthroughs, was to involve our night duty teams. This has been really well received with 26 of the rostered night duty nursing employees in attendance; that’s a turnout of one hundred percent!”

“We couldn’t have done it without the assistance of the Directors of Clinical Operations who organised their teams’ schedules to give the night duty employees time to attend and provide valuable feedback. The Engagement Team, SMEs and Dandenong Nurse Managers have collaborated wonderfully to continue to support these activities as we prepare for Go-Live 1.”

There’s no rest for the team however with a further 11 ‘twilight’ Walkthroughs planned during night duty over the next few weeks, with more being added daily.

For the latest schedule of these, and other familiarisation events, go to the EMR Events page.

The Ward Walkthroughs bring together the EMR, devices, clinicians and workflows in the work area where they will be used. These sessions are one of the ways we leave ‘no stone unturned’ in ensuring we are confident we have identified any gaps and changes to process or roles so we can smoothly and safely adopt the EMR at Go-Live.
