RUOK? breakfast provides food for thought

The Food Services team at Monash Health in Clayton was among the first to promote RUOK? Day, holding an RUOK? breakfast recently.

RUOK? Day is being held this Thursday (12 September) and encourages everyone to stay connected and have meaningful conversations about their mental health and wellbeing.

The team felt blessed to be able to enjoy some scrumptious food, including scrambled eggs, upside down pineapple cake, and apple and cinnamon cake (all yellow too!), and dressed up in yellow to spread the awareness of the RUOK? initiative.

The breakfast not only helped increase awareness of mental health but also provided them with an opportunity to socialise and take part in the ‘4 Steps to have a meaningful conversation’.

In doing so, Food Services has entered the competition to win a 2hr massage for their team.

Rukmini Venkat, Secondment Food Services Supervisor at MMC, said:

“Working within food services, our team definitely knows the importance of food in providing comfort and happiness to patients, so (we figured) why not apply this to our staff as well!”
