Starting a conversation about mental health

Today our staff and volunteers came together at the R U OK? Day Mental Health Forum at Monash Medical Centre to start a conversation about mental health in our community.

Our panel of experts, which included Rosemary McKemmish, Monash Doctors Wellbeing Officer, Rhiannon Koppel, Dual Diagnoses Peer Worker and Rick Bennetts, Carer and member of Monash Health’s Mental Health Consumer Carer Committee, shared valuable insights into how we can support our staff, patients and loved ones through their struggle with mental illness.

The panel was moderated by Senior Communications Advisor and passionate mental health advocate Eivion Bowen.

Thank you to everyone for bravely sharing their personal experience, and encouraging our staff to stay connected and have meaningful conversations about mental health.

Ask R U OK? and start a conversation that could change a life. Together we can create a culture where people feel confident asking and answering this simple yet important question.
