Telephone upgrades at Clayton and Dandenong

Monash Health is replacing its old and outdated telephone systems at Dandenong Hospital and Monash Medical Centre.

The replacement of the Dandenong Hospital telephone system has been completed and the project team is now deploying new handsets across Monash Medical Centre.

IT will be upgrading most existing phone handsets at Monash Medical Centre to newer phones where required. Patient handsets will not be changed.

The changeover has started at Monash Medical Centre and will completed at the end of September. Patient handsets are not being changed and Monash Children’s Hospital is not affected by these works.

Staff from Monash Health IT and our supplier will be at site during the changeover to replace older telephone handsets with newer handsets where required. During the physical changeover the extension will be unavailable for up to 5 minutes while the new phone is installed, and the extension number migrated to the new telephone system.

Disruption to patient phones should be minimal. A new telephone User Guide can be found on the intranet.
