The incredible Food Services Team at Moorabbin, led by Bon, has been working hard to change the single-use plastic dessert containers and lids over to reusable ones.
Currently the kitchen at Moorabbin send out more than 1,500 lids and containers. These are now being replaced with reusable lids and containers and will equate to approximately 78,000 single-use plastic items being diverted from landfill each year!
The passionate team have also collected an impressive 950 bottle lids and 55 bread tags, which will be used to fund wheelchairs and to make prosthetics for those in need.
The efforts of the Moorabbin Food Services Team highlight how small changes can lead to big results. Congratulations to the whole team for improving Monash Health’s environmental footprint.
