As this decade comes to a close, it marks a remarkable period of change and growth for Monash Health. I want to thank you for the role you’ve played in these achievements, including caring for our diverse and growing community, as we provided over 4.1 million episodes of care this year.
Headlining 2019’s highlights is your commitment to driving the rollout of our Electronic Medical Record. Its implementation has forever changed the way we operate, improving the quality and efficiency of our care.
As our community grows, so do our services. 2020 will bring further growth in the construction of the Victorian Heart Hospital – the first of its kind in Australia, the expansion of Casey Hospital and the redevelopment of the Emergency Department at Monash Medical Centre.
With the new year comes a new set of opportunities. Our Strategic Plan and six guiding principles have established our path ahead. While these provide a roadmap, it will be your efforts that will deliver excellence in care for those in need and ensure Monash Health is a place of opportunity and inclusion for all.
The care you provide to our consumers and their families is invaluable, but please remember to take time to care for yourself and your colleagues. We know that this can be a wonderful time of year, but also a challenging time for some. Our Employee Assistance Program is available every single day of the year and there are many other support services that you can access. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you need help.
