NGV brings Art Therapy to Monash Children’s Hospital

Over the next two weeks anyone coming to Monash Children’s Hospital will be able to enjoy an arts and crafts program brought in by the National Gallery of Victoria (NGV).

Monash Children’s Art Therapist Kate Gabb and Senior Child Life Therapist Paula Rogers will run several sessions in the Monash Children’s Hospital atrium, and on the wards for children who may find it difficult to move about.

All the art projects are provided to the hospital by the NGV and reflect the current exhibitions at the gallery.

According to Paula, the workshops are extremely popular with the children . She says they provide both a wonderful distraction for them during trying times, and gives them something to either take home or keep them company during their stay.

Thank you to the NGV and our incredible Art Therapy team for giving our children the opportunity to learn about and express themselves through art.
