Monash Health moves to quiet MET calls

As of Monday 2 March, Monash Medical Centre and Dandenong, Monash Children’s and Moorabbin hospitals will become quiet hospitals for adult, paediatric and neonatal Medical Emergency Team (MET) calls.

This means the first responders (MET team) will be paged first followed by a page to the home medical team caring for the patient and ward Nurse in Charge/Nurse Manager.

Bedside clinical staff will continue to make a MET call by calling 999 and the contact centre will activate the paging response. If the MET team does not respond in 10 minutes, an overhead announcement will be made.

External Code Blue and adult, paediatric and neonatal Code Blue calls will remain as overhead announcements.
