Last week Allied Health welcomed 19 new graduate occupational therapists, social workers, physiotherapists and speech pathologists across bed based, community and mental health services.
Graduates were engaged in a full day multidisciplinary education program at Monash Medical Centre coordinated by Melissa Bartlett from the Allied Health Workforce, Innovation, Strategy, Education and Research Unit (AH WISER). Topics covered included Aboriginal Cultural training, Loss and Grief in Healthcare, Documentation and Discharge Planning.
The graduates will also take part in the Allied Health Early Graduate Education Program which aims to support Allied Health graduates in their first 12 months of clinical practice. All Allied Health Graduates across Monash Health are invited to attend the program, which runs twice yearly.
