In the lead up to International Women’s Day on 8 March, have you nominated your gender equity champion or taken part in the #EachforEqual campaign?
You can get involved in the following ways:
- Take a photo for the #EachforEqual campaign (like the image above) so we can share the best ones on social media. Strike a pose, either on your own or with your work colleagues, and send in your pics to the communication in-box also by Wednesday 4 March.
- Nominate your gender equity champion – send in sentence about what this person does to help forge a gender equal world (in or out of work) and we’ll select some to share on the intranet. Include their name, ward, department and site (or their personal relationship to you). Email the communication in-box by Wednesday 4 March.
- Join us tomorrow for the Monash Health International Women’s Day celebration – Tuesday 3 March, with lunch from 12.30pm at Monash Medical Centre Lecture Theatre 1.
International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women’s equality.
This year’s United Nations theme for International Women’s Day is Each for Equal.
An equal world is an enabled world. The UN poses the questions: ‘How will you help forge a gender equal world, celebrate women’s achievements, raise awareness against bias and take action for equality?’
This is a celebration for everyone. We’d love to hear stories about what the key people in your life are doing to promote equality.
Monash Health celebrates International Women’s Day as one of the major days of significance, driven by the Gender Equity Committee and our vision for equity and inclusion.
