Update on employee COVID-19 screening arrangements

COVID-19 Screening Clinic teams are now providing information to all healthcare workers about what happens after the test, including how to isolate until test results are complete.

For our employees, the current turnaround time to get results back is 24-36 hours, depending on the demand at Clayton Pathology. ICU and inpatient testing is also a priority.

If you have been tested and are awaiting your results, you should continue to isolate until your test results are available. We understand that this can be frustrating and ask for your patience.

Details are also provided on how to quarantine in the case of a positive result.

If your test is negative and you don’t have any close contacts or travel history, then you can cease quarantine. However, If you still have symptoms of infection, please don’t come back to work. It is particularly important at the moment that we limit employee and patient exposure to all viral illnesses, not just COVID-19.

If you have symptoms and require a COVID-19 test, the Clayton, Casey and Dandenong Screening Clinics are open for employee testing from 8am to 10am, seven days a week. If you have symptoms and need a test outside of those hours, please still come to the clinic during opening hours and identify yourself as an employee, for priority testing.

Details of the clinics, which are all separate from our hospital sites, can be downloaded here.
