Mother’s Day visitation

Sunday 10 May is Mother’s Day and we recognise that how we celebrate our mums will be different this year. As the declared state of emergency will still be in place this Sunday, visitor restrictions and hours will remain in place.

Although this is critical to ensure the safety of our patients, employees and our community, it will no doubt cause disappointment not to be able to visit in large numbers or for an extended period. There may also be an increase in visitors on-site with expected increase in queuing time requiring additional patience.

We can all relate to the significance of mothers in our community, and know that you will show characteristic compassion and kindness, while maintaining the necessary safety measures during this special day.

Virtual visitation with family should be encouraged via smartphones or tablets to maintain connection with loved ones. Your assistance on Sunday would be greatly appreciated for anyone needing help with technology to send special wishes to their mums, or for mothers missing their family.

Thank you for your assistance in keeping everyone safe, and providing the best patient experience throughout this time.
