COVID-19 research fundraising appeal – employee giving

At last Thursday’s Employee Forum, a question was asked about whether employees can donate to the COVID-19 research appeal.

Ron Fairchild, Director of the Monash Health Foundation, replied that gifts to the urgent appeal were very welcome where employees feel able to do so.

“Our people contribute such a great deal through their everyday work and are constantly going above and beyond,” Ron said.

“Many employees also make a regular donation to Monash Health through their pay using the iGive program – which is fantastic. Due to the targeted nature of the current appeal, we have not added the COVID-19 research designation to iGive.

“Employee donations to the COVID-19 campaign are extremely welcome. Gifts of $2 and more are tax-deductible and can be made to the appeal through the microsite www.monashhealthappeal.org.

“What’s more, thanks to a generous major donor, every dollar donated will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $250,000. This means, for example, that a gift of $50 has $100 worth of impact.

“You can also spread the word about the appeal to your networks by sharing the appeal link www.monashhealthappeal.org. The more people who hear about the great work of Monash Health, the better.”
