This year’s NAIDOC Week theme recognises that First Nations people have occupied and cared for this continent for more than 65,000 years.
To help celebrate this significant and continuing connection all employees are invited to a very special Webex Forum on 9 July to hear AJ Williams-Tchen talk about Aboriginal cultural awareness, followed by an interactive Q&A.
Join the event from 2pm on 9 July here.
AJ is of Wirdajuri / Wotjobulak background, and has more than 30 years experience in the health & community service sectors where he has worked across a number of hospitals, health services & community organisations.
He holds qualifications in Social Work, Education, Hospital Nursing, Youth Work, Drugs & Mental Health, Community Services Coordination, Community Work and Aboriginal Health Work. He has been facilitating Aboriginal cultural programs, Australia wide for the past 15 years.
Given the ongoing uncertainty about the COVID pandemic, and the special risk the virus poses to Aboriginal communities most of both the Victorian and national NAIDOC Week activities will be deferred until later in 2020.
We will provide more details about opportunities to join in NAIDOC events closer to those dates.
In the meantime don’t forget to complete your mandatory training at: (insert link) or book for a more detailed training experience here.
