The MPCCC Award for innovative mid-career cancer researchers

Mid-career cancer researchers are encouraged to apply for the 2020 Award for Outstanding Cancer Research, with applications now open. The Monash Partners Comprehensive Cancer Consortium will be selecting an innovative and impactful cancer researcher who has made significant advances in cancer research in the last 18-24 months. The focus on mid-career cancer research aims to aid the transition between early career and leadership in the field, with the prize of $5,000 reinforcing cancer research as a career choice.

Professor Melissa Southey, Research Director of the MPCCC, explained the reason behind choosing to focus on mid-career researchers:

“We decided to direct this award to mid-career researchers as transiting the treacherous bridge between early career into positions of leadership is often when scientist do their best thinking and produce astonishing new knowledge in cancer research fields.”

You can read more about guidelines and eligibility and how to nominate a researcher. Applications are now open and will close on 31 July.
