Supporting employees with the implementation of mandatory masks

As metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire prepare for the mandatory use of masks from 11.59 pm Wednesday 22 July, Monash Health is committed to supporting all employees through this change over the coming weeks.

When arriving for your shift, it is expected you will be wearing your own mask as per Victorian Government regulations.

For those who are not in clinical areas and do not interact with patients, you are permitted to use your own cloth or homemade masks or face coverings while at work. We recommend reading through the Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) advice on this here. For people in this group, Monash Health will initially provide up to three masks per day in order to provide time for you to obtain your own supplies.

All clinical and patient-facing employees must continue the mandatory use of surgical masks as outlined here on 9 July.
