Beyond the Mask Episode 7 – Professor Rhonda Stuart

We’re feeling a little excited with Episode 7 of Beyond the Mask and expect we’re not the only ones as we feature our Medical Director, Infection Prevention & Epidemiology, Professor Rhonda Stuart.

It would be safe to say that Rhonda and her team have well and truly risen to the fore during the pandemic. Rhonda has kept pace and kept calm with the continually evolving advice emerging from a novel virus and used her expertise to translate this into informed, evidence-based safety advice for patients and employees.

Not only has she worked to assist safe outcomes for us, but her steady, reassurance has also influenced the community beyond Monash Health. During the ‘crunch’ time before the second lockdown, Rhonda was appointed as one of four deputies to assist Chief Health Officer, Professor Brett Sutton to make some tough decisions. Her objective approach has featured across news programs such as Channel 7, Channel 9, 10Daily, Four Corners, and publications The Age, and The Herald Sun. In each appearance, she offered sage advice and worked to put the public at ease.

So what’s it been like to be in the thick of infection prevention and epidemiology during this time? Watch the video and find out how it all felt alongside other insights such as what would a holiday look like for Professor Rhonda Stuart?
