As requests are still coming in from across our facilities, the Clean Up Monash Health Day originally organised for earlier this year has now been extended to ‘clean up weeks’. As we endeavour to finish the clean up by early December, here’s an update on what’s happening at your site:
Work has commenced and is continuing to go well at Dandenong Hospital, where we are working through the list of items to be disposed of, following a minor issue with site accessibility for the skip last week.
At Clayton, all disposal work has been completed and at Casey we expect to complete work this week.
Cranbourne had a skip delivered on site last Thursday. All items will be removed, including the skip, by the end of this week.
At Moorabbin Hospital and Kingston Centre we will complete the disposal of items by the end of this week. Moorabbin Hospital items are being moved to the Kingston Centre for disposal, as not enough was identified there to warrant getting in a skip for that site.
At 165 Cleeland Street, Dandenong, where most items identified are metal, we are arranging for a metal recycler to make a collection in the near future.
We will begin clean up at Doveton, Berwick and Springvale once the larger sites have been finalised. We expect this will be the week commencing either 23 or 30 November, pending skip availability.
Thank you to everyone who has been involved in finding appropriate homes for repurposed items, and arranging disposal of those items that could not be repurposed. The work continues to make Monash Health a safer and more work-friendly environment.
