Location is key in naming employee meals marquees

An organisation-wide competition has decided upon the names of the four new meals marquees recently installed across Monash Health facilities.

The names the committee created to judge to competition landed on are:

  • Clayton Corner;
  • Casey Cantina;
  • Dandi Deli; and
  • Monash MASH.

The competition to name meals marquees created interest among some employees, with a number of entries received to name the venues located at the Casey, Clayton and Dandenong hospitals.

The structures are a:

  • 20m x 4m marquee (Level 3, A block landing, Clayton);
  • 15m x 6m marquee (Level 1, loading dock staff entrance, under the Special Care Nursery building Casey);
  • 9m x 6m marquee (ED courtyard, Dandenong); and a
  • 8m x 4m marquee (ICU courtyard, Dandenong).

The marquees have been set up to complement existing employee meal rooms and support social distancing.

Executive Director, Capital and Infrastructure David Ballantyne said their requirement followed feedback at staff forums and monitoring of existing meal room use via the Q code readers/app and are available 24/7 as employee break areas.

Each marquee will undergo some minor decor additions in coming months to ensure dining conditions are even more pleasant.

Approved by David Ballantyne.
