Chief Executive COVID -19 Update: 6 December 2020

Message from the Chief Executive

*** ALERT ***

Today the Premier announced further easing of restrictions.

From 11.59pm tonight (Sunday 6 December), rules on the use of masks and gatherings in the home will change, and density limits replace caps in hospitality venues.

While masks are now recommended rather than mandated in many circumstances, they are still required to be worn in a number of places, including on public transport, in rideshare vehicles and taxis, and in some retail settings.

Importantly, at this time, there is no change at Monash Health and, accordingly, masks must continue to be worn while at any Monash Health site. This applies to visitors and employees.

You can read the Premier’s statement here.

A poster reminding people that masks must still be worn is available here.

Thank you, and stay safe.

Andrew Stripp
Chief Executive
