Monash Medical Centre and Monash Children’s Hospital went live on Wednesday with our new online visitor screening tool.
The tool, which streamlines our collection of visitor information, allows all inpatient visitors to complete a simple online screening form (similar to Attestations) before visiting their relative, family member or friend on our hospital wards.
The tool is one of the ways we continue to prioritise the health and safety or our patients, employees and community, and is scheduled to be rolled out at our other sites on Friday 18 December.
To assist in queue management and provide better customer service at front entrances and reception areas, visitors can complete an online form:
- prior to their visit via the Monash Health website; or
- on their smartphone or device using a simple URL or QR Code available (on flyers and posters) at the hospital’s main entrance.
Team members involved in the screening process may be available to support visitors to complete the form before guiding them to reception to finalise their registration.
Form submissions are then reviewed by a member of our Reception team, who simply confirms that the patient receiving the visit is a current inpatient and visiting guidelines are adhered to.
We are required to collect key information about all visitors entering our health service, and the information gathered will help us with contact tracing.
Visitors will be asked to maintain 1.5m distance from patients, employees and others during their visit and not to attend our sites if they are feeling unwell.
More information about visitor restrictions can be found via the visitor restrictions page on the Monash Health website.
