COVID-19 Alert: 13 January – Updated advice regarding people who have visited Greater Brisbane

Updated advice regarding people who have visited Greater Brisbane

If you have been in Greater Brisbane (Brisbane, Logan, Redlands, Moreton Bay, Ipswich council areas) since 30 December, you must:

 Get tested immediately.

  1. Isolate until you receive a negative result. Do not attend work.
  2. Call the DHHS coronavirus hotline on 1800 675 398 immediately.
  3. Contact your manager.
  4. Monitor for symptoms in the following two weeks post-exposure and get tested again (and isolate until the result is known) if symptoms develop.

You can return to work when you receive a negative result if you have no symptoms.

Previous advice was to get tested if you had visited these Queensland areas on or after 2 January 2021. However, this date has been updated based on new information from Queensland health authorities regarding the B.1.1.7 lineage COVID-19 cluster in their hotel quarantine program.

Grand Chancellor Hotel
Anyone currently in Victoria who completed 14 days of mandatory hotel quarantine in Brisbane at the Grand Chancellor Hotel on or after 30 December must isolate and contact the DHHS coronavirus hotline (1800 675 398) immediately.
