As you will be aware, Fit Testing is currently being rolled out for Monash Health employees to ensure they are equipped with the most suitable tight-fitting respirators/face masks for their unique face shape. Improved fitting of respirators offers employees further protection from workplace respiratory hazards including airborne infectious agents, dust and other particles.
Thank you to everyone who has been fit tested so far – the response has been excellent.
We are pleased to announce that as of this week, we have fit tested over 1,000 Monash Health employees and we are on-track to fit test 8,000 employees by June 2021.
Fit testing has begun at Dandenong Hospital and been successfully completed at Chestnut Gardens Aged Care Home, where all employees have been fit tested. Dandenong Hospital joins facilities at 20 Wright Street Clayton (opposite Monash Medical Centre), Casey Hospital Ward D and Moorabbin Hospital to provide fit testing to employees. Fit testing will also be available in coming weeks at Kingston Centre.
Currently, priority ward and unit cohorts, including ED, ICU and COVID admission wards, are undertaking fit testing. When fit testing is available for you, you will receive an email with information and instructions on how to book your fit test via your manager. We ask that you follow the relevant prompts to be fit tested as soon as possible, including completing the online consent and medical clearance form.
In some instances, there may be vacant fit testing sessions available at short notice due to cancellations or where there are no available employees within current priority cohorts. In this situation, fit testing will be made available more broadly to non-priority cohorts to ensure the program can be rolled out to Monash Health employees as quickly and efficiently as possible.
