Give flu the flick with your free vaccination

Flu season is here and so is our free vaccination program. In Australia, there are over 3,500 avoidable deaths caused by complications of the flu each year. Flu vaccination is a safe and easy way of protecting yourself and others from the flu.

At Monash Health, we offer free flu vaccination to all employees. Infection Prevention is now rolling out the flu vaccination program across Monash Health sites. We encourage everyone to participate.

Please ensure you leave two weeks either side of your COVID-19 and flu vaccinations.

If you are vaccinated elsewhere or are not participating, you must declare through the Flu Declaration portal on the intranet.

Where to get vaccinated

There are a number of ways you can get vaccinated. Infection Prevention will be hosting onsite vaccination days on the following dates:

  • Casey Hospital – Wednesday 14 April (Main foyer, 8.30am to 4pm)
  • Monash Medical Centre, Clayton – Thursday 15 April (Lecture theatre 1, 8am to 4pm)
  • Dandenong Hospital – Thursday 15 April (Employee cafeteria, 8am to 3.30pm)
  • Kingston Centre – Monday 19 April (Socialisation building, 7am to 4pm)
  • Moorabbin Hospital – Tuesday 20 April (Annexe, 10am to 3pm)

There will also be mobile immunisers making ward rounds, including after-hours and weekend rounds. If you are working remotely, you are encouraged to come onsite for your free flu vaccination.

What to bring with you

Flu vaccination is quick and easy. All you need to bring is your Medicare number and smartphone to complete the online consent form.
