Family Violence Information Sharing Scheme (FVISS) and Child Information Sharing Scheme (CISS) legislation has come into effect across Victoria. This critical legislation will help break down silos and barriers to sharing information across organisations, and increase the safety of victim-survivors and our wider community.
Under Part 5A of the Family Violence Protection Act 2008 and Part 6A of the Child Wellbeing and Safety Act 2005, Information Sharing Entities (ISEs) and Risk Assessment Entities (RAEs) can request information to assess and manage family violence risk, and promote a child’s wellbeing or safety.
Monash Health is an ISE and can share information for a protection purpose, assessment purpose or child safety and wellbeing purpose with other prescribed agencies (ISEs or RAEs). This means our clinicians may be asked to make a decision about sharing information with external organisations to help keep people safe.
If employees receive requests for information from one of these prescribed agencies, they should direct them to our dedicated webpage here. Agencies will then be required to complete the request form and email it to ISS@monashhealth.org. From here, it will be filtered to the correct department.
