Last week’s National Volunteer Week wrapped up with a formal celebration on Thursday 20 May.
Over 150 volunteers, employees and Board Members attended the annual event, coming together and celebrating the commitment of our volunteers, especially after a year of not being able to gather due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Chief Medical Officer, Anjali Dhulia, welcomed attendees, noting that the event is an important day of recognition and celebration for our volunteers, something 2020 has taught us that we cannot take for granted.
Chief Executive, Andrew Stripp, emphasised his appreciation for our volunteers and consumer advisors who give freely of their time. He also thanked them for helping make Monash Health a more welcoming place, by assisting our patients and their loved ones during what can be a vulnerable, anxious and confusing time.
We encourage all employees to take some time this week to thank our volunteers and let them know how much we value them.
