COVID-19 Alert 8 July 2021- Changes to restrictions

Changes to restrictions

COVID-19 Restrictions are easing in Victoria from 11.59pm on Thursday 8 July.

The Victorian Government has further eased restrictions in Melbourne and across Victoria. They relax the rules around mask use in workplaces and increase density limits at public events. Limits to private gathering numbers remain unchanged.

The cautious easing recognises that, while Victoria has reached seven straight days of no new community transmission, other states in Australia are still experiencing COVID-19 cases in the community. Please continue to stay up-to-date on the changes to interstate travel and exposure sites.

Masks
Masks will remain mandatory in patient-facing and public areas of the health service. This includes clinical areas, waiting rooms, cafes, and shared corridors. In other words, if you are in an area where the general public or our patients are, then you must be wearing a mask.

Masks will no longer be required in non-patient-facing or non-public areas, such as offices or meeting rooms, where you can physically distance.

Visitors are still required to wear a face mask while at any Monash Health site.

Visitation
There are no changes to visitation at this time. Our current visitor rules can be viewed on monashhealth.org

You can read the full details of the changes and the updated Table of Restrictions on premier.vic.gov.au.
