Census 2021: Establishment Officers wanted

10 August 2021 is Census night, and the Australian Bureau of Statistics is seeking Establishment Officers to join its team.

Establishment Officers will deliver Census forms to our patients on Tuesday evening, 10 August, and collect the completed forms the following morning. They will work with patients, residents and local care teams to complete their forms.

Establishment Officers will be paid for their work and cannot be rostered onto other shifts during these activities.

What does an Establishment Officer do?

  • Participate in a paid training session and complete required reading,
  • Undertake a range of set procedural, operational and administrative activities,
  • Deliver/provide Census materials to each occupant/room,
  • Transcribe some data if occupants are unable to complete on their own,
  • Collect all Census forms on 11 August – the day after Census night, and,
  • Earn $25.41 per hour (inclusive of 25% loading) plus Super.

As an Establishment Officer, you must:

  • Have an email unique to you,
  • Have a mobile device you can use to access ABS Census Payroll,
  • Have a reliable connection to the internet,
  • Be of reasonable fitness,
  • Comply with ABS work health and safety policies, and,
  • Be an Australian citizen or have the legal right to work in Australia.
