COVID-19 Alert 6 November 2021- Celebrating with colleagues

Celebrating with colleagues

With the end of the year fast approaching and restrictions easing, it is understandable that many teams will be looking forward to being able to get together to celebrate.  Our 100% vaccination status provides excellent protection, however, is not a guarantee that you will not get or transmit COVID-19.  We know that being vaccinated protects us from severe disease, however, we also need to be mindful that many of our patients are not vaccinated as yet.

Today, as a result of social gathering, we have had a significant number of employees develop symptoms and also test positive.  The operational impact is still being worked through; however, it is significant.

It is timely to remind you of a number of steps you can take to ensure everyone remains safe.  These are requirements for any work function.  Many of these may also be useful to consider for any social function.

You are requested to ensure that;

  • The date and time of the event is recorded
  • A list of attendees is kept to assist with contact tracing
  • Only Monash Health employees can attend as they will be fully vaccinated
  • Social gatherings cannot be held at Monash Health premises
  • Events are held outdoors (parks, outdoor dining)
  • Shared food platters are not permitted
  • QR check-in, where possible, is used
  • Physical distancing is maintained
  • All socialising should adhere to COVIDSafe settings, including groups of no more than 30 to meet in an outdoor setting

Thank you for keeping yourself, your colleagues, and the community safe.

Chief Executive
