Another successful Allied Health Assistant Day

On Wednesday, 17 November, Monash Health held its fifth annual Allied Health Assistant Day. After another year filled with lockdowns and increasing COVID-19 numbers, it was fantastic for the Allied Health Assistant workforce to celebrate the incredibly valuable work that they do every day.

After the success of last year’s virtual event, the 2021 conference was again held online via WebEx to an audience of over 460 attendees. We had AHA’s attend from all over the country, showcasing the innovations they are undertaking and the flexibility and adaptability of the workforce. Unique to previous years, our event was hosted by four skilled AHA Leadership Group members, Louise Britzman, Deborah Saunders, Greta DeVincentis and Kylie Saccotelli.

Attendees were treated to a full day of speakers offering insights into the work currently being done across the AHA space, from consumer insights to disability and education, to the future of Allied Health Assistance utilising telehealth. We had the Chief Allied Health Officer of Monash Health, Debra Mitchell, opening the day with a fantastic insight into the value of AHAs and ended the day with a captivating story of Emma Gee’s stroke journey.

We are already looking forward to another celebration of Allied Health Assistants on 16 November 2022.

Approved by Deb Mitchell, Chief Allied Health Officer.
