Last week, the interface between EMR and Delegate, the new menu management system, went live.
For those sites with the Delegate menu management system, diet orders now only need to be entered into EMR. This system will reduce duplicate diet order entry and allow the management of patients’ nutrition and hydration data in real-time.
Delegate also allows patients to order their meals closer to mealtimes, improved menu monitor interaction with patients, eliminates menu offerings for patients with known allergens and reduces wastage. Food allergens entered into EMR will now also pull through to Delegate, highlighting the importance of food allergens being correctly entered into EMR.
Work commenced earlier this year on integrating the menu management system across all Monash Health sites with Delegate, coding food allergens and building and deploying the interface between Delegate and EMR.
This update has been 10 months in the making and involved the collaboration of multiple Monash Health departments with our external providers. This is Phase 1 of the rollout of Delegate across Monash Health.
