As we near the end of 2021, you can look back with pride on your work this year.
Whether in a clinical or a clinical support role, onsite or remotely, as an employee, student or volunteer, you have supported the healthcare goals of our community and the entire state. We are incredibly proud of your professionalism and resilience.
We know it has not been easy. You may have needed to wear full PPE, deal with distressed patients and family members, sacrifice time with those you love, take on different duties, or stay away from the work you love for safety reasons. You had to adapt and find new and innovative ways to deliver your services, all while your daily work was in the spotlight.
These challenges have served to highlight your commitment, skills, and expertise. Through it all, you continued to choose kindness and demonstrate deep compassion for our community and each other.
Please take a few minutes to watch the ‘Year that was’ video, which captures some of what we have achieved together over the past 12 months. It is a wonderful look at how our Monash Health teams have cared for the communities of the southeast.
Your remarkable contribution has not gone unnoticed, internally by our Board of Directors and by some of Victoria’s most esteemed leaders, including Premier Daniel Andrews, Victoria’s Chief Health Officer Professor Brett Sutton, Director of the Doherty Institute, Professor Sharon Lewin AO, COVID Commander, Jeroen Weimar, and many others. You’ll find their messages of thanks in the Thank You video.
Over the next week, in place of our traditional lunch, we’ll be distributing small gifts onsite as a small gesture of our appreciation for your hard work throughout this time. You can pick up a gift from the below sites at the following times:
We wish you all a safe and happy festive season. To those of you working, thank you. For many of our patients, consumers, and their families, it is a difficult time to find themselves in need of our services, so the care and comfort you provide is deeply appreciated.
For those taking leave, we wish you a well-deserved, safe and restful break.
